Since last spring, after putting away my turtlenecks, I have been feigning for a resurrection and the time is now. Turtlenecks are great alternatives for sweaters. Besides how simplistic and easy they are on the eyes, they're warm and cozy. They comfortably hug your body, and your neck to accentuate facial and top half bodily features. Generally speaking, it's very sleek. Versatility is a huge plus as it caters to the different genres of menswear. Take the casual look I'm featuring in this post for example. This look can appeal to the likes of Harry Styles and Jaden Smith but it does not stop there. With the addition of a wool blazer, an exchange for well tailored trousers and shiny lace up dress shoes, George Clooney could also be associated with the look.
Turtlenecks have become one of the essential pieces I look forward to wearing in the fall/winter seasons and it is not just because of my obsessive infatuation with old hollywood and the 50's/60's . Ever since my eyes were lucky enough to witness a particular well presented project, I've been so excited about the clothing item, and the contemporary direction it has taken in menswear. I'm specifically referring to the Tom Ford ad campaign featuring Gigi Hadid, and Patrick Schwarzenegger. Thanks to Mr. Tom Ford, you can now call me the turtleneck ambassador.
What is your take on turtlenecks? What do you think about the way it is styled in this post? I want to hear from you. Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
