I know what you might be thinking. "I did not think Igee Okafor was a sneaker guy". The truth is, I wasn't but that recently changed after the Adidas Stan Smith's took over the fashion society. Since the introduction of the superstar sneakers, style enthusiasts have made the most of the footwear by styling them in unexpected, and innovative ways. An example is the sneakers and suit look which most of us should be familiar with.
Seeing, sneakers being worn in somewhat unconventional ways emphasized its purpose of recreation and relaxation hence the reason I decided to try it out. The pink crew neck I am featuring in this post would be my second ever crew neck. I have always liked crew necks but seeing that they are very similar to sweaters, I just always opted for sweaters because of its fabric and material. However, this crew neck won me over with its color. Something about it was very reminiscent of cotton candy which explains the reason I decided to go with white shorts.
The idea of pairing the sneakers with a crew neck and shorts came very easily to me. I wanted to work with a casual and destressed look. I saw that each of these pieces exude those characteristics so, I brought them together. You know what they say about birds of the same feather.
Are sneakers are crew necks in your summer wardrobe? What do you think of the way I tackled both items? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
