Splashes Of Color For The Summer

Photography by, Victor Jolley.

The season that allows us to get away with flashy flamboyant colors is finally upon us and, I am making the most of it. That's right, summer is here, and with it comes more relaxed looks together with, lots of skin (for some of us). This summer, my personal style goal is very simple; Styling more items with showy prints, patterns, and, color palettes.

I mean, look at the outfit above. What is the first thing you notice about it?

For me, it is the daring color scheme and that is exactly what I love about it. As our days continue to get hotter, most males can relate when I say it gets harder to put effort into a great outfit. Well, one way of maximizing very simplistic items is being aware of appropriate color schemes. Complementary colors, contrasting colors and similar colors. Those who are familiar with the color wheel know what I am talking about.

The outfit I am wearing above is an example of using complementary colors. Although, they can be a little hard on the eyes when paired together in its full strength sometimes, one key to making it work is straightening out its hues. Overall, there are no rules when it comes to experimenting with color except examining it thoroughly to see what works for you.

What are your personal style goals for the summer? What color schemes will you be incorporating in your wardrobe ? What do you think about the way I color blocked the outfit above? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
