The Fall season continuously reminds me of how much I love menswear. One reason being the variety of sweater styles that get to be utilized during the season. From the crewneck to the turtlenecks, the options are endless.

The V Neck Sweater is one style a lot of males are a bit timid about styling. From casual conversation with friends and colleagues, the reason lies in the product coming off too "dad-esque" and "dated". In the spirit of breaking that hackneyed idea , here are three looks that offer inspiration on how to wear a V Neck Sweater.

Look 1

With a V Neck Sweater, the goto styling formula is a shirt and trousers. For a more casual look, it's easy. Have a little fun with the formula by incorporating a plaid/fun shirt, and substitute the trousers for a pair of jeans. For shoes, loafers are indeed, one of the most comfortable and versatile pair of shoes. Go for the no sock look but with no show socks as presented in the look above.

Business casual. While the term is well suited when thinking of what genre the V Neck fits into alongside this look, it isn't necessarily a bad thing. Although it is a bit dressed up, business casual does not have to be boring. To play down on the business perspective, incorporating bits of color like I have done with the tie works. Prints, and patterns too.

Look 3

One great V Neck Sweater characteristic is its thinness. Use that to your advantage by wearing it as an inner layer under a jacket, and an outer layer over a polo shirt or an oxford shirt.
